Rakta Charitra Audio on Sep 10th

Sensational director Ramgopal Varma’s eagerly awaited action saga ‘Rakta Charitra’ music will be released on September 10th.

Amidst controversy right from the day of announcement till its completion, according to the director, ‘Rakta Charitra ‘has shaped up well. The movie is slated to release later this month.

The movie might not have the usual formula mix of songs but it will have the best of background score and theme music. The music is handled by Mani Sharma.

Surya’s 2nd movie in Hindi

Known to all that there were rumours floating around kollywood and among the public that director Murugadoss’s upcoming trilingual 7Aum Arivu is a remake of Christopher Nolan's just released Inception. But he himself and even the leading lady Shruti Haasan who is doing the lead role in the film has denied saying that it is an original script not a copy of English Inception. Later we all came to know that the movie is based on a circus artiste in which Suriya plays the role of a trapeze artiste cum animal trainer.

Well the latest buzz about the movie is that it was originally planned to be made in Tamil and Telugu but now it will be made in Hindi too. The interesting point to be noted is that with this Suriya will have two releases in Hindi, one is Raktha Charitra and the second one is 7Aum Arivu. So now one can say that Surya have made successful entry in Bollywood. Whether he would continue or not will depend upon the success of the movie once its releases.

Raktha Charitra hurts Tamil sentiments!

As release date for ‘raktha charitra’ is nearing by, film maker Ramgopal Varma is facing daunting tasks not alone with Telugu version, even Tamil version is also hit by a block. Hindu Makkal Kachchi of Tamil Nadu passed on a warning signal to Ramgopal Varma about halting the release of ‘raktha charitra’ for hurting Tamil sentiments.

Vivek Oberoi, one of the heroes in this movie has attended Sri Lanka for IFFI and other movie shootings. But Tamil Nadu film industry has already passed an ultimatum of banning the movies of all those artists who go Sri Lanka as Tamil people in Lanka are facing apartheid from a long time.

So, Vivek Oberoi who hurt the Tamil sentiments is being a part of ‘raktha charitra,’ this movie is to be banned, Hindu Makkal Kachchi leaders said. So, here is new controversy for Varma and his Charitra.

All is set for Rakta Charitra's release

All is set for the audio release of the movie titled Rakta Charitra, in which Vivek Oberoi, Suriya and Priyamani portrays the lead roles, on September 10. Known to all that its Ram Gopal Varma’s contentious flick and Mani Sharma scores music.

It’s a powerful political excitement which is about the life of Anantapur Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA Paritala Ravi. Its basically a trilingual film produced in Telugu, Hindi and Tamil by Madhu Mantena and Sheetal V. Talwar. According to sources, it has completed the entire shooting and will grace the theatres by September end.

Rakta Charitra News

'Raktha Charitra' release date confirmed

Now, one more movie is to join the September race. After ‘Komaram Puli’ and ‘Robot,’ this ‘raktha charitra’ from Ramgopal Varma has been the much discussed subject which has been in making with too many controversies surrounding.

To check its stamina at BO; Varma is making his ‘raktha charitra’ movie to stand opposite big movies as Varma announced the release date of his movie as September 24 when first part gets into theatres.

For information sake, only and only Telugu version will be released in September as Hindi version is expected to be released in October. One more interesting point is that Second part of ‘raktha charitra’ will take at least a gap of 50 days.

As this movie had no songs, original sound track of Mani Sharma’s back ground score will be released on September 10.

Jillunu Oru Kaadhal

Jillunu Oru Kaadhal is yet another ordinary Tamil masala movie that would have gone unnoticed but for the presence of three big stars - Surya, Jyothika and Bollywood import Bhumika Chawla.

In our view, the highlight of Jillunu Oru Kaadhal is its top quality music.

Surya's performance while adequate does not raise to the level of his acting in Kaakha Kaakha or Ghajini.

It is Bhumika Chawla who steals the show in Jillunu Oru Kaadhal although she has a lesser role, closely followed by Jyothika.

Jillunu Oru Kaadhal is a love triangle with Gautham (Surya), Kundavi (Jyothika) and Ishu (Bhumika Chawla) as the principal characters.

As college students, Gautham and Ishu are madly in love with each other. But the villain coming in the way of their happiness is Ishu's politician father.

Ishu's father separates the young couple and gets his goons to beat up Gautham badly. Time passes and Gautham is happily married to Kundavi until she stumbles upon his old diary and learns of his deep love for Ishu.

To complicate matters, Ishu arrives from Australia after six years.

Who will Gautham chose now? What happens to his happy marriage to Kundavi?

Jillunu Oru Kaadhal makes one thing clear. Onscreen lovebirds Surya and Jyothika (also off-screen lovebirds and scheduled to get married in a few days) share an obvious chemistry that the two do not share with others. For instance, Jyothika and Kamal Haasan just did not bring forth the same screen chemistry in Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu as the Surya-Jyothika pair did in Jillunu Oru Kaadhal.

A.R.Rehman's music is a joyous treat for the ears.

Virtually every song lingers in the mind long after you leave the movie hall. Jillendru Oru Kadhal, Machakaari, Majja Majja and New York Nagaram sent us into raptures.

The Machakaari song dance sequence involving Surya and Bhumika Chawla and Majja Majja featuring Surya and Jyothika were both well picturized.

The comedy scenes featuring Vadivelu is an irritating distraction and does not fit in well with the overall story.

Kaakha Kaakha

Seldom are Tamil film fans treated to a fast paced, slick movie like Kaakha Kaakha.

Directed by Gautham of Minnale fame, Kaakha Kaakha is that rare amalgam of love, action, tragedy, scintillating music and superb photography. Fine performances by the lead characters, a tight script and crisp dialogs add to the charm of this movie.

The movie centers around a dedicated police officer and "encounter" specialist Anbuselvan (Suriya) and his lady love, a math teacher Maya (Jothika).

Anbuselvan arouses the wrath of hardcore criminal Pandiya (Jeevan) when he guns down the hoodlum's brother Sethu. An enraged Pandiya swears revenge on the cops responsible. He warns Anbu that he would kidnap his girlfriend Maya and make him suffer.

Keeping his promise of wreaking destruction on the policemen, Pandiya's brutal attack comes soon after Anbu's wedding. Pandiya and his henchmen shoot Anbu and throw him into a lake. Believing Anbu to be dead, the gangsters cart away Maya to their lair and plan to sell her to a brothel.

But the badly injured Anbu manages to elude death and goes after Pandiya in an effort to rescue Maya.

The final fight scene between Anbu and Pandiya on a narrow bridge leading into rough seas has been beautifully shot in silhouette.

Every song in Kaakha Kaakha is a treat to the ears.

Our favorites were Uyirin uyire, Ondra irenda aasaigal and Ennai Konjum matri. Shot on a private beach in the Andamans, Uyirin uyire has been picturized beautifully and is just awesome. It's been a while since we derived so much pleasure watching and listening to a Tamil film song.

Suriya, Jothika and Jeevan are very effective in their respective roles. No crude overacting here.

Ayan Review – Aiyo, Sori Padam

Ayan at U.K. Box Office – Ayyo, Embarrassing

Dai Machchi, Indha Surya Padam oru Sori Padam da. Sori Padam. (Hey buddy, this is a scabies-infested movie).

An ugly movie beyond redemption, Ayan is the latest piece of shit to emerge from the Augean sewers of Kollywood.

With not even a fig leaf of a story to cover its ugly entrails, Ayan’s raison d’etre is that a few agents of Lucifer at AVM and Sun Pictures had more money than they knew what to do with – so, they flushed it down the toilet and lo, at the other end of the sewer pipe emerged Ayan.

Zero Entertainment Value
Featuring Surya, Tamanna, Prabhu and two escapees from the Vandalur Zoo answering to the taunts of Akashdeep Sehgal and Jegan and directed by a nincompoop called K.V.Anand, Ayan offers zero entertainment value. Zilch.

With a story not in the least bit credible or gripping, the acting so mediocre and music below average, Ayan left us numb with shock at the amateurishness of it all.

Not for one moment in the two hours and 40 minutes did we get our money’s worth ($12 for the ticket).

Bizarre Story
The silly story centers around a young smuggler Deva (Surya) jetting around the world on smuggling trips for his mentor Das (Prabhu) and making the Indian Customs look like a bunch of buffoons.

A long-haired cartoon character Akashdeep Sehgal plays the villain Kamalesh. If someone were to stick a tail to this Akashdeep character, it’d be completely at home in the Vandalur Zoo as would Jegan who plays Deva’s sidekick Chitti.

Not content merely with making the Indian law enforcement authorities look like a bunch of blithering idiots in this ceaseless affront of a movie, Ayan director Anand adds insult to injury by bizarrely rewarding one of the professional smugglers with the plum government job of Professional Consultant/Officer. Don’t even try to justify this as a reward for assistance rendered in the cause of justice. Some reward. Some justice.

Surya – Mediocre Show
Surya once again delivers a embarrassingly poor performance. Whether on a smuggling mission in Congo, racing around like a maniac in Malaysia or cavorting with his lady love Tamanna, this fella disappoints. Big time.

Even Surya’s dialog delivery lacks pizzazz.

Worse, the clown doesn’t even seem to make an effort, perhaps in asinine hopes that his broad chest will deliver the goods.

At this rate, Surya will have as much success in Kollywood as his old man Sivakumar had in his heydays, which is very little.

Tamanna
Tamanna plays Yamuna, Surya’s lady love in the movie.

Given the sophomoric nonsense of a story, the Mumbai lass doesn’t have much of a role in Ayan except to act like a retard at frequent intervals.

While Tammana is without doubt a better actress than the ugly Kollywood trinity of Nayantara, Trisha and Shriya, we wouldn’t put her in the Meera Jasmine, Sandhya, Navya Nair or Padmapriya category.

By the way, we found Tamanna’s smile bewitching. Sweeeet.

Music
We were not entranced by Ayan’s music either.

What about the picturization of the songs, you ask? Pathetic, in one word. Same old, same old – a bunch of clowns tromping up and down.

Worse, the characters in Ayan break out in songs at the oddest moments. Like for instance when Surya is released from the lockup at the police station, Surya and Tamanna suddenly break out in that stupid Nenje Nenje song.

Never in the history of Tamil movies has there been a song as repulsively picturized as Honey Honey.

Also, will someone please tell Surya and Tamanna that jumping like monkeys reaching for their bananas on a tall tree is not the same as dancing.

So Much for So Little
It boggles the mind that the remorseless bozos behind Ayan went around the world (Malaysia, Namibia and other parts of Africa) to bring us this hellish nightmare. Talk of squandering money.

There were about 25 people for the opening show. The audience didn’t seem to be very engaged with the movie going by the constant chitchat and people walking out.

There weren’t many people waiting for the 7PM show either when we came out around 6:35PM ET. Perhaps, it was the bad weather on the East Coast.

Or maybe word had spread that this piece of trash a.k.a. Ayan is best shown the middle finger.

SearchIndia.com strongly recommends that you stay away from the offensive nightmare that is Ayan if you value your sanity and if you value your money in these hard economic times.
